Nanaimo RCMP a handing out “cease and desist” letters to local marijuana dispensaries.
The letter warns owners they’re violating the law, and operating outside the Health Canada rules for medical marijuana.
The letter says RCMP will return to the shops in 7 days and if they’re still open, employees or customers found on site will face arrest and possible charges.
On the Sunshine Coast, meanwhile, one dispensary operator is urging the District of Sechelt to license, and regulate the business.
The owners of S&M Medicinal Sweet Shoppe plan to take that argument directly to Council next week.
