Sunshine Coast RCMP say a crackdown targeting impaired drivers last week led to 3 drivers being suspended in less than an hour, and one driver getting charged with assaulting an officer.
The trifecta came shortly after midnight November 5th after police set up a roadblock at the intersection of Anchor Road and Trail Avenue. All three drivers also had their vehicles impounded.
Then, late Friday night, a vehicle sped through a roadblock in Sechelt without stopping. RCMP say they followed it until the driver pulled into the parking lot of a liquor store. When police tried to arrest him there was a brief fight.
The man now faces several charges, including assaulting a police officer.
