The District of Sechelt’s zoning bylaw for medical marijuana production is back on the books.
The bylaw would only allow Health Canada licensed producers to set up on bigger ALR or industrial lots.
It was defeated at second reading last month, when Councillors couldn’t agree the size of buffer zones around parks and schools.
But Mayor Bruce Milne brought it back for reconsideration last night and it passed.
Councillor Noel Muller supported the bylaw last time around, and did again last night.
But Mayor Bruce Milne says that “shifting landscape” will only impact who the customers are, not the bigger questions around commercial grow-ops.
