Gibsons Council looks at moving money out of Park Acquisition Reserve Fund

Gibsons Council is looking at moving money out of its Park Acquisition Reserve Fund to make it available for things like upgrades to Armours Beach, and to help the Gibsons Public Market.

The Town is a part owner of the Market property.

The Park Fund has a balance of about 340-thousand dollars. And Mayor Wayne Rowe says while it’s locked up there, it can’t be used for anything but buying parks.

But, Councillors say before committing any of the money to the Market they want to see some numbers on things like support pledged, how much matching money they need to get grants, and deadlines.   The final decision will likely come next week.
