Nanaimo RCMP are looking for tips from the public after a horse was shot with an arrow.
The 3 1/2 year-old horse named Bliss was in its paddock on an acreage on Rock City Rd near the main park entrance to Linley Valley.
When the owner went to check on it Saturday morning it was obviously in pain and injured. Â A vet later confirmed she had been hit in the chest with an arrow.
“I was shocked to think something like this would ever happen on our property and to one of our animals” says Bliss’s owner Joy Rudd.
Rudd told police she’d last checked on Bliss at 8pm the night before.
RCMP searched the area, but couldn’t find any arrows or other evidence.
Bliss is expected to survive, but there is the risk of infection from the wound and she will require rest and continued care.
