This weekend in Sechelt, SSC Properties and local paddle clubs are teaming up to stage the first-ever Sechelt Paddling Festival.
It starts Sunday at 11 on the developer’s recently purchased property on Sechelt Inlet.
Werner Hoffstatter of SCC Properties says they’re interested in hosting all sorts of events, to introduce people to the site and build a community connection.
Fred Stark of the Gibsons Paddle club says the location is ideal, and they’re excited about the future potential
Organizers had hoped to stage a First Nations canoe race as part of the festival, but there wasn’t enough lead time. Stark says they plan to add it for 2016.
