Sunshine Coast RCMP say a police dive team will be in the waters of Garden Bay Lake Tuesday as the search continues for a missing kayaker.
Constable Harrison Mohr says Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue was called out late Sunday night when the 59 year old man didn’t return from an evening paddle.
He says they found a kayak adrift, but that was the only clue.
Mohr says the missing man lives near the lake and is a regular kayaker who’s familiar with the waters. “This is obviously a devastating time for the man’s family and friends, and we hope we can help them to get some answers about what happened,” says Mohr.
Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue have finished their effort at the scene, and Mohr says anyone out on the lake or along the shore should report anything unusual to RCMP at 604-885-2266.
