The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue unit in Halfmoon Bay says one of their crews was in the right place at the right time last night.
The crew was training near Trail Islands when they got a call about 2 people in the water offshore from Sechelt.
They found 2 men clinging to a small kayak around 9:15pm
One had been in the water more than a half hour and had to be taken to hospital once the RCM-SAR crew got him back to land.
