Sunshine Coast RCMP have confirmed the 18 year-old involved in a single vehicle crash on the Port Mellon Highway a week ago died from her injuries.
She was a student at Elphinstone Secondary and the Alternate School and counselors have been on hand to help classmates deal with the news, which comes just weeks before graduation.
The investigation into the cause of the accident continues and RCMP are still hoping to hear from any witnesses
The young woman’s name has not been released.
