Sunshine Coast RCMP looking for truck that left bumper bit behind in hit and run

Sunshine Coast RCMP are looking for a pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run on the Victoria Day long weekend.

RCMP say it happened on Highway 101 near Madeira Park around 3:30 in the afternoon on the 16th.

The truck hit a vehicle carrying a family, including four children, as it tried to pass on a double solid line.

Luckily nobody was hurt.

RCMP say a piece of bumper left behind by the collision belongs to a white, 2007 to 2010, Chevrolet Silverado 2500 or 3500 model.

The driver was a man and the truck had an “N” sticker on the back.

Anyone who spots a truck matching that description, with a part of a chrome front bumper missing , should call RCMP at 604-885-2266 or Crime Stoppers; 1-800-222-8477
