Sunshine Coast RCMP say they’re seeing an upswing in scams.
In the past couple of weeks one person has reported being taken in by a fraudulent on-line add for a condo rental in Whistler.
Another person lost money through the so-called  “grandson” scam, to someone pretending to be a friend of a relative in legal trouble in Quebec.
There’s also a false lotto win scam making the rounds, and a phishing attempt where a caller tries to get access to people’s computers by claiming to be with Microsoft.
RCMP have not put a dollar figure on the recent losses.
