"Weeds" making fresh application for business license and hoping for end-of-month opening

The company working to set up a marijuana dispensary in Sechelt says despite getting turned down for a business license, and warnings from RCMP they could face charges, they hope to open by the end of the month.

Robin Kehler of Weeds says they’re re-applying for the business license, based on the “glass and gifts” part of their retail operation.

Kehler says their plan is based on building community support, and offering an important alternative for people whose needs aren’t being met under new federal rules.

Kehler says despite what some seem to believe, they’re not deliberately trying to trigger a court battle.
