NDP Leader Tom Mulcair is confident about his party’s chances in the newly realigned Vancouver Island ridings of Nanaimo – Ladysmith, Nanaimo – Alberni and Cowichan-Malahat-Langford.
At a town hall Tuesday night in Nanaimo, Mulcair suggested Nanaimo-Ladysmith is theirs to take in the upcoming federal election.
Mulcair says if the vote break down from the last election is applied to the new boundaries, the NDP would have earned 45 per cent in Nanaimo – Ladysmith.
Muclair continues his BC tour with a stop in the Cowichan Valley Wednesday morning, for a visit to the Cherry Point Winery with Alistair MacGregor, the party’s candidate in Cowichan-Malahat-Langford.
