Enviro Minister rebuffs Simons on Woodfibre open house

Powell River Sunshine Coast MLA Nicholas Simons says the province is letting down residents who want a say on the proposed Woodfibre LNG terminal.

Tuesday at the Legislature, Simons tried to convince Environment Minister Mary Polak to hold a hearing, or at least and open house, on the Sunshine Coast.

Polak says the Sunshine Coast hasn’t been excluded, because the SCRD has a seat on the advisory working group for the project.

She also points out the province extended a deadline for written submissions on the plant, and the Fortis pipeline expansion needed to feed it, by 15 days.
