The Town of Gibsons is appointing rookie Councillor Jeremy Valeriote to the Ferry Advisory Committee.
BC Ferries has the final say on who sits on the FACs that offer advice on various smaller routes, but they typically accept the choices that come in from local governments.
The Sunshine Coast’s FAC has a reputation of being one of the more outspoken committees, and strong advocates for improved service.
And Mayor Wayne Rowe says their new appointee will have big shoes to fill.
Sechelt has already indicated it intends to return Councillor Mike Shanks to the FAC.
