Coroners Service continuing investigation into death of homeless man on Sunshine Coast

The Coroners Service says it still hasn’t narrowed down a cause of death for a homeless man who was found on a bench in Gibsons on November 14th.

The death of 56 year old Harry Paul, on a night the area’s extreme weather homeless shelter couldn’t open, sparked an outcry that eventually led to a funding boost from BC Housing.

The shelter will now be open every night until March 31st, but it remains unclear if spending the night in the open contributed to Paul’s death.

The Corner continues to investigate, but RCMP have now closed their file on the case.
