This is part two of our look at the 12 candidates vying to fill the four vacant seats on Lantzville Council.
Coast FM asked the candidates what it’ll take for Lantzville to move forward.
Mike Donald says, first of all, it’ll take commitment.
Doug Parkhurst says it’ll take a willingness to work together.
And John English says it’ll be important for council to quickly identify priorities.
We also asked the candidates about those priorities, and Donald thinks the water agreement with Nanaimo is one.
English says the drought on the island has certainly put the issue of water in the spotlight.
Parkhurst agrees water is a major priority.
There are advance polls in Lantzville on the 29th and 5th, and general voting day is August 8th.
There’s also an all candidates meeting at Costin Community Hall on August 1st at 3pm.
