3rd ANNUAL MAN UP TO CANCER FUNDRAISER
LOCATION – WOLF BREWING, 940 Old Victoria Rd, Nanaimo, BC
WHEN – Saturday, September 21, 2024
TIME – 11am – 4 pm
ACTIVITIES: Family Event, Live Music/bands, BBQ, Face Painting, 50/50 draw, Silent Auction (some items include restaurant gift cert, spa gift cert, daycare cert., artwork, gift baskets, etc), Cancer Panel (including cancer patients, caregivers, psychologist, medical professionals).
SEA WOLVES MENS CANCER PACK – PURPOSE/MISSION – Men with cancer helping men with cancer on Vancouver Island and BC. Advocate for men with cancer (ie – petitioning government to eliminate requirement for doctor referral for PSA testing). Create awareness with men to have their health check regularly.
CHEMO BACKPACK PROGRAM – Provide Chemo backpacks to Cancer Centres for men going through cancer treatments. Each back pack cost approx. $150 to produce and is supplied free of charge. Includes comfort items such as toques, blanket, water bottle, electrolytes, ginger chews (for nausea), lip balm, hand lotion, wipes, note book, reading book.
EVENTS – Weekly coffee get togethers, retreats, sporting events (ie Nanaimo Clippers, Nanaimo Night Owls), presentations to companies and social organizations.
