BC Hydro Crews are out this morning trying to get power back on to several thousand customers in the area.
The biggest outages are in Sechelt, and up Sechelt Inlet, on Gabriola Island, Cedar and south of Nanaimo, Earls Cove and Egmont and Nanoose Bay.
But the biggest problems from morning’s storm are on BC Ferries. They’ve been forced to cancel sailings on all major routes to and from the Island.
And Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries says a lot of other routes have also been impacted.
Marshall says they’re keeping an eye on the weather and hope to resume sailing sometime after 10am.
