Nanaimo RCMP are telling people, especially seniors, to watch their wallets.
Constable Gary O’Brien says there have been five pickpocketing incidents on the island from Courtenay to Langford, including one in Nanaimo on November 19th at Walmart. He says two women are behind all five incidents.
O’Brien says, in most cases, the victims don’t realize for several days.
The women wear shawls partially covering their faces, and are possibly of Eastern European descent.
