AED registry will give ambulance dispatchers vital information

A recent incident at a Nanaimo rink showed the value of public access defibrillators, and now the people who run the BC Ambulance Service want to make it easier to find one in a hurry.

They’re putting together a list of all the Automatic External Defibrillators in the province.  Gord Kirk is the Director of Dispatch Operations for BC Emergency Health Services.

Kirk says there are nearly 380 defibrillators already in the registry, but they have no idea how many others are out there.

They’re encouraging anybody with an AED on site to visit bcpadprogram.ca and put it on the list.
