Nanaimo RCMP say both southbound lanes of the Island Hwy south of the Cedar overpass have been reopened after a single vehicle rollover.
The accident happened around 2:50pm and blocked traffic in the area until around 4:30pm.
A Toyota Sienna lost control while merging and veered off the highway, ending up on its roof.
The 56-year-old man behind the wheel, from Victoria, wasn’t injured. Nanaimo RCMP say that’s because he was wearing his seatbelt.
