Sunshine Coast are reminding people to be sure to make sure they’re buying firewood from a legal seller.
This after a suspicious incident on Monday the 17th.
A property owner on Keith Road in Gibsons noticed a man bucking up some felled trees on her lot. When she asked the man what he was doing he said he was doing her a “favour” by cleaning up the property.
He drove off without taking any of the cut firewood.
RCMP say they told the property owner to call police if the suspicious lumberjack comes back, and they say anybody buying firewoood should ask about where it came from and, ideally, get proof it was legally cut.
