Wayne Rowe has won a second term at the helm of the Town of Gibsons, in an election that seemed to revolve around one key issue – the controversial George Hotel proposal for the waterfront. Saturday night saw Rowe defeat challenger Suzanne Senger by more than 600 votes and two councillors who’ve been vocal opponents of the project lost their seats
Mayor Wayne Rowe says he’s looking forward to starting fresh with a new council and a strong mandate from voters.
