Roberts Creek is one of the Sunshine Coast Regional District areas without an incumbent this election.
However all the candidates have either run before or sat on groups like the Official Community Plan Committee.
Hans Penner is a well known environmental activist, with a background in planning.
Penner says some of those issues include protection of the watersheds that supply the area’s drinking water, and improving transportation.
Mark Lebbell says environment is at the top of his issues list. He also says he wants to see a collaborative approach on dealing with things like the recent controversy over an art gallery zoning.
David Kelln says housing is an emerging issue for him.
Kelln also says it may be time to start taking a serious look at the idea of Roberts Creek incorporating, and becoming its own municipality.
The fourth candidate – Barb Hague – did not respond to our request for an interview.
