Cedar busing question coming back to SD68 Board Jan. 29th

Cedar area parents anxious to know whether their kids will be able to take a bus to Ladysmith Secondary in September are going to have to wait a little longer for an answer.

A report on the cost of providing buses was presented to the Nanaimo Ladysmith School Board this week, but there was no vote on the issue.  Instead, the report was received for information.  However, Trustee Terry Lynn Saunders plans to bring a motion forward at the January 29th meeting.

Fellow Trustee Jamie Brennan says leaving the decision until January is leaving parents, students, and the Board in limbo.

If it’s decided the board will provide transportation, he says they’ll have to look at the budget to see what they can cut to pay for the busing costs.
