Expect closures at the Sechelt Landfill next week as crews install a new scale.
The Sunshine Coast Regional District says they are replacing the current temporary scale with a new one, with plans to make the change permanent for the landfill. The scale will be located by the scale house in the regular location.
Because of the work, the landfill will be closed to the public on January 13 and 14.
While they are confident that the work will be done on those dates, if a late start is needed or if the landfill re-opens earlier, they say you will be informed through their website or social media.
Once the work finishes, they ask you to still drive slowly on and off the scale and around the site for everyone’s safety.
