BC Transit says they’re making significant improvements to public transit across the Regional District of Nanaimo.
According to a media release, more service routes are being added across the system including six heavy-duty buses in the new year.
Several routes will be changing, and they say as demand across the transit system increases, they’ll be adapting and making ridership more reliable.
“As part of this service change, the RDN and BC Transit will be increasing service levels and modifying some key routes, including changing some routes names and numbers,” they say.
They add changes in the service is a partnership between both the local and provincial government and has been made possible by an operating grant provided in 2024-25 provincial budget.
