Nanaimo RCMP are investigating a fatal hit and run that they say claimed the life of one man on Harmac Road east of the Cedar Road Bridge.
According to police, the incident happened around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday when the victim was walking along the side of the road when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene.
RCMP say, emergency services were on the site shortly after the incident, but according to a media release, the man was determined dead at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service is currently investigating the incident and, along with RCMP, they’re asking for any information that could help identify the driver and vehicle involved in the incident.
