As of today, the Sunshine Coast Regional District is lifting water restrictions for the entire region.
The district says after making it through the summer without requiring Stage 3 and 4 water restrictions, Stage 2 restrictions have been lifted for the Chapman, Egmont, Cove Cay, North and South Pender Harbour, Langdale, Soames Point, Granthams Landing and Eastbourne water systems.
This comes after Stage 2 restrictions were set for the Chapman and Eastbourne systems in July because of the warm and dry weather, while the rest remained at Stage 1.
They say along with saving water, repairing leaks played a part in keeping the water supply in the Chapman system.
District board chair Leonard Lee says they thank not only the staff for finding large leaks but also the community for their part in saving up water.
