Sunshine Coast RCMP say a man arrested New Year’s Day is likely facing deportation.
The man was found sitting in the back seat of a truck with an open case of beer, after RCMP noticed two other men walking toward the vehicle carrying alcohol and looking intoxicated.
When asked by the officers the men denied driving the truck, and walked away. RCMP decided to check out the truck anyway, and saw keys in the ignition and open bottles of alcohol in the cup holders and the third man.
RCMP say he was in the country illegally, so they arrested him and turned the case over to the Canada Border Services Agency. The man was taken to Vancouver where CBSA is expected to move to have him deported.
