Nanaimo RCMP looking for stolen dragon statue taken from owners’ front porch

A homeowner is looking to find an item with sentimental value to them and has asked Nanaimo RCMP for help in locating it.

A 180-pound, 27-inch black cast iron dragon was stolen from the owner’s front porch in North Nanaimo on Tuesday, September 3.

The dragon was purchased nearly 50 years ago and is significant to the owners as it was the first purchase her and her now deceased husband made together when they first got together.

There is only one other dragon like it in Canada according to the owner, and it survived various moves to different houses sitting on their front step always.

Investigators have searched nearby homes and reviewed CCTV footage but so far haven’t found any leads into finding it.
