A Nanaimo woman walked away with a $500,000 lottery win this week.
Barbara Wunderlick purchased a Daily Grand draw ticket at Quality Foods on Turner Road, later finding out she won from a self-scanner in the Real Canadian Superstore.
“I scoffed and said, ‘is this for real?”, said Wunderlick. “It was a shock to see the machine [stall] and have people celebrate around you!”
She says that she was most excited about sharing the news with her partner, adding that the prize will make life easier.
She plans to help her family, have steak and lobster dinners, buy a vehicle, and take her family out on a nice trip.
