You’re being invited to attend an open house event at the Oliver Woods Community Centre in Nanaimo next month.
That’s according to a media release saying the event is open to all ages and will host a variety of events for people to take part in.
They’re hoping to showcase the facility in preparation for another season of activities, with samplers of many programs scheduled throughout the day. They’ll be running drop-in sports, like pickleball and badminton, demos of the wellness park, and will have prizes on hand.
Mayor Leonard Krog says the centre provides an abundance of support and this is a fantastic opportunity for everyone from toddlers to seniors to see what they are all about.
“There is a lot that goes on with parks, recreation and culture, and we invite you to come to the open house,” he says. “People will be able to see the programs, meet staff, and participate in a variety of activities.”
The event is part of the city’s plan to improve health, wellness, and livability for everyone in Nanaimo.
The open house is scheduled to take place September 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
