Two Vancouver Island pharmacies are offering rapid HIV tests as part of a provincial pilot program.
Medical Health Officer Paul Hasselback says Medicine Shoppe in Nanaimo started providing free tests Monday, while another in Victoria will launch the program at the end of the month.
He says there are several benefits.
Island Health estimates there are 35-hundred people in BC who are living with HIV but don’t know it.
