The Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club will soon be $25,000 richer.
TSN SportsCentre Anchor Kate Beirness says she and co-host Darren Dutchyshen are in town to hand over a cheque, thanks to the Kraft Celebration Tour.
The money will go towards much-needed upgrades to the Community Boathouse on Long Lake.
SportsCentre will be broadcasting live from Maffeo Sutton Park on Saturday. The event, which includes a free community BBQ, runs from 1-4pm.
