Changes to the orders in the Sunshine Coast Regional District’s State of Local Emergency will allow the arena to reopen next week.
The continuing issue with the District’s water supply had delayed the installation of ice at the arena. As of today’s updated orders, the seasonal process has been allowed to continue.
The installation will use water from the Chapman Water System, which has been the one key water source affecting restrictions.
As of November 25th, the ice will be ready for use once again.
The State of Local Emergency is in place until at least November 21st. The last update from the District came on November 15th. Stage 4 water restrictions remain in place.
