Before 6am this morning, Nanaimo had an accident that closed off a section of one of its busiest highways.
At the intersection of Commercial Street and Terminal avenue, a single car punched a hole into the old A&B sound building.
Firecrews were on site as witnesses say Jaws of Life were used to free the driver from the car. Witnesses report he did not seem to be ‘all there’ and may have been under the influence of something.
The driver was reportedly bloodied but still alive.
It’s currently unknown how long the highway will be closed. Traffic is being redirected around the block.
