Nanaimo RCMP say no explosives were found during a search of the 7-Eleven in Departure Bay after a bomb threat was called in.
Constable Gary O’Brien says officers and a Police Services Dog trained to search out explosives did a thorough search of the interior and exterior of the store at 2875 Departure Bay Rd.
O’Brien says the roads in the area are being re-opened, along with Departure Bay beach, which was evacuated as a precaution. He says the investigation is continuing.
O’Brien says they’re thanking the public for their cooperation.
