$300,000 are up for grabs in the latest round of Zero Waste Grants from the Regional District of Nanaimo.
The funding is to help meet the district’s goal of keeping 90 per cent of all trash out of the landfill by 2029.
This is the final year of this funding initiative’s three-year run.
They’ll be accepting applications for projects that:
- maximize waste diversion
- are sustainable once they are started
- make it easier to repurpose and recycle materials
- Are innovative
- Include collaboration and community partnerships
Non-profit organizations are able to apply by email until 3 pm on October 3rd. You can find more information on the District’s website.
