A Sunshine Coast realtor’s plans to donate benches for bus stops has hit a bit of a snag.
Tony Brownton and his partner Krista Dempster thought the benches would be a good way to give back the community — where a lot of bus stops don’t have seating or shelter — and do a little promotion at the same time.
Brownton says the fact some people thought the benches crossed the line into advertising caused the first snag.
Brownton says all the benches in Sunshine Coast Regional District jurisdiction had to be removed over liability concerns. He says they’re not sure yet if they’ll file a formal application for permission to put them back.
