The CAO of the Town of Gibsons is speaking out on some of the things he’s hearing during the sometimes heated debate over the George Hotel project.
Manny Machado used the final Council meeting before the August break to deliver a prepared statement on two incidents in particular, where he and planner Andre Boel faced claims they were misleading Council.

One case involves claims related to how the Town is handling contamination at the proposed George site. Machado is calling for environmental consultant Andre Sobolewski to withdraw comments made during a presentation in June and apologize.
Machado says staff have been made to feel like targets of what at times seems like an organized attempt to discredit them.
