RDN green-lights major development project

One of the biggest development projects on the mid-Island now has the OK from the Regional District of Nanaimo.
The people who own Fairwinds Resort are going to build about 2-thousand homes near Nanoose Bay.
RDN Manager of Current Planning Jeremy Holm says the development will include a large park, public waterfront walkways and a mixed use marina village with shops and services.
He also says it’s going to have a lot of different housing types – from single family homes to apartments and housing geared to seniors.
It’s expected to take 2 decades to complete the build-out of the development, which some RDN Directors are already calling a “flagship project” for the area.
