A Sechelt Councillor is telling his colleagues to tread carefully when it comes to a planned medical marijuana operation.
Medma has a lot on Sechelt Inlet Crescent that’s already zoned for Health Canada licensed grow-ops, but they need Council’s approval for the building design. It’s also still waiting for its Health Canada license.
And some councillors are now saying the permit should be held up to allow for a community consultation, after negative feedback when the permit was given the OK at committee.
Chris Moore is accusing them of trying to block the project, and he says that’s dangerous territory.
In the end the permit was approved in 5-2 vote, but Council also decided to have a general public info session on the Health Canada medical marijuana rules, and how they’ll work in Sechelt.
