Some high-flying visitors are wrapping up a stop in Nanaimo.
The Century Flight Club has been holding their annual convention in the city, and the Chair says they’ve been very impressed.
John Lovelace says the Nanaimo airport had no trouble dealing with the 100 or so planes, and Club members enjoyed day trips to places like Texada Island and Seattle.
Lovelace says the Club’s hundreds of members across the country, and other private pilots, represent an untapped tourism market.
Lovelace says Tourism Nanaimo played a key role in getting the Club to come to Nanaimo this year, and many of the 200 people who attended are planning to prolong their stay, and visit again.
