RDN tightens water restrictions for Nanoose

The Regional District of Nanaimo says a long stretch without rain is forcing them to put people in the Nanoose Bay Peninsula Water Service Area on Conservation Level 3.
Usually they’re able to stay at Level 2 through the summer, but RDN officials say right now the ground water “recharge” is slow and they’re having difficulty keeping reservoirs full.  You can find details of the new restrictions at rdn.bc.ca
Officials with the Sunshine Coast Regional District and the City of Nanaimo say despite the dry weather there’s no need yet to move to tighter restrictions.
