Sunshine Coasters to get a taste of live opera

Sunshine Coast residents had a chance to check out some live ballet during the successful second run of the “Nutcracker” that wrapped up on New Year’s Eve, and now they’ll be able to follow it up with some live opera later this month.

The Vancouver Concert Opera Society is including a stop in Sechelt as part of its “Tri-City Gala Concert Tour”.

Natalie Burdeny is the Society’s Managing and Artistic Director.  She also sings Mezzo.

Burdeny says they’ll be presenting works by Bizet, Verdi and Donizetti, but not as full stage productions.

Burdeny says the concert format is a great way for audiences to get an introduction to opera.
