Sunshine Coast & Nanaimo welcome New Year's Babies

The Sunshine Coast got a bit of a jump on Nanaimo in the New Year’s Baby watch.

Vancouver Coastal Health says a baby was born at St. Mary’s in Sechelt January 1st at 3am.  Her name is Lily and mom Tanya says she arrived ahead of schedule, but she’s doing fine.

It’s fairly rare that the Sunshine Coast sees a true New Year’s baby, the past couple of years they’ve been born later in January.

Nanaimo’s first child of 2014 is a girl, who came into the world at 4:27am January 1st at NRGH.  Parents Hannah and Brock Frazer haven’t settled on a name yet.
