Nanaimo RCMP say social media helped nabbed an alleged thief.
On Wednesday, they posted a photo to Twitter, captured by a security camera, of a man leaving Target with a $700 vacuum. Constable Gary O’Brien says the photo was retweeted numerous times and they got a tip shortly after.
O’Brien says the 35-year-old man is facing three counts of theft under $5000, including two for allegedly stealing vacuums and another for allegedly stealing a BBQ from London Drugs. He was set to appear in court in Nanaimo on Thursday afternoon.
