Elliot gets 20 year minimum for murders of Duncan area women

William Elliot is going to send at least 20 years in prison for the murders of two Duncan area women.

The 26 year old pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the deaths of 42 year-old Karrie Anne Stone in 2010, and 18 year-old Tyeshia Jones in 2011.  The crime carries an automatic life sentence, but the judge can set parole eligibility at anywhere from 10 to 25 years.

During a week long sentencing hearing at Duncan Supreme Court the Crown argued for the full 25 years, but the judge ruled Elliot will be able to apply for parole after 20.
